Idea — An information gap works only when each learner has information the other genuinely lacks — not when both could look at the same sheet. The communicative need must be real, not simulated.
Example — Student A has a timetable with Tuesday blank; Student B has Tuesday but not Thursday. They must speak to complete both — neither can see the other’s paper.
Try — Check your last information-gap activity: could either student have completed the task without speaking? If yes, close the gap — separate the information genuinely.
