ELT365 · Day 187 — Role-plays and simulations
Idea — Role-plays put learners into situations — job interview, complaint, doctor's visit — to rehearse real language safely. Clear roles, a goal and a setting make them work; vague set-ups make them flop.
Example — A role card "You are a customer returning a broken phone; get a refund" gives purpose and language.
Try — Write two role cards for one situation. Give each a goal that gently conflicts, so they must actually negotiate.
