Idea — Guided writing provides scaffolding — sentence starters, paragraph frames, content prompts — reducing the language load so learners can focus on meaning.
Example — ‘First, … . One reason for this is … . However, …’ guides a B1 learner through a paragraph without dictating the content.
Try — Write a guided writing frame for a short opinion paragraph. Use three sentence starters. Remove them in the next task and compare the output.
