Idea — Freer practice gives learners a communicative goal and lets them choose how to reach it. The teacher monitors but does not control language. Meaning comes first, form comes later.
Example — ‘Tell your partner about a time you made a difficult decision.’ Learners use whatever language they have. Target forms may appear — or may not.
Try — Set a freer speaking task this week. Resist correcting during it. Note errors for the feedback slot afterward.
