Idea — Authentic texts carry real language — irregular syntax, colloquial lexis, cultural assumptions. Graded texts are written to level. Both have a place.
Example — A menu is authentic and often manageable at A2. A magazine feature may be authentic and genuinely C1. The label doesn’t determine difficulty.
Try — Find one authentic text at your learners’ level. What makes it manageable? What scaffolding would you add before, during, or after?
