ELT365 · Day 179 — Joining receptive and productive skills

June 24, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea — Real communication blends skills: we read then discuss, listen then write. Linking a receptive input to a productive output gives reading and listening a purpose beyond comprehension questions.

Example — Learners read two opinion pieces, then debate — the reading feeds the speaking.

Try — Take your next reading or listening text and add one productive follow-up: a short discussion, summary or reply.
