Idea — Blocking vocabulary is the small set of words that, if unknown, prevent comprehension entirely. Pre-teach only those — not every unfamiliar word.
Example — In a listening about a court case, ‘verdict’ may be blocking. ‘Courtroom attire’ probably isn’t — context carries it.
Try — Read a text you plan to use. Circle every unknown word. Cross out all but the three that would truly block meaning. Pre-teach those three only.
