ELT365 · Day 168 — Reading Intensively

📚60-Day ELT Masterclass — This post is part of an ongoing series. View full index →

Idea — Intensive reading means reading closely for accurate understanding of meaning, language, and implication. It is slow, deliberate, and cognitively demanding.

Example — Reading a contract clause or a grammar explanation — every word has weight and must be processed precisely.

Try — Give a 200-word paragraph. Ask learners to underline the single most important sentence, then justify the choice in one sentence. Discuss disagreements.
