ELT365 · Day 176 — Jigsaw reading

📚60-Day ELT Masterclass — This post is part of an ongoing series. View full index →

Idea — Jigsaw reading gives different groups different texts, then mixes groups so each learner teaches their part to the others. This creates a genuine communicative purpose for reading.

Example — Three groups read three news articles on the same event. Regrouped, one person from each shares their story. What information differs? What is missing from each source?

Try — Find three short texts on one topic and design a jigsaw reading task for your next class.
