Idea — A B2 authentic text can be used with A2 learners if the task asks only for top-level gist. The text provides exposure; the task sets the achievable challenge. This distinction frees up your materials.

Example — Play a C1-level podcast to A2 learners. Task: how many different speakers do you hear? Learners don’t need to understand every word to answer.

Try — Choose one text above your class’s level. Write a gist task they can genuinely complete. Test it mentally — can they answer without decoding every word?
