Idea — Context is the situation around a text: who wrote it, for whom, why, and where it appears. Setting context helps learners engage appropriately and reduces processing load.

Example — Before a listening: ‘Two friends are deciding where to eat. One has a food allergy.’ That is context — not a spoiler.

Try — For a listening you use, write one sentence of context. Does it give the situation without giving away the gist-task answer?
