ELT365 · Day 211 — Error correction — when and why
Idea — Immediate error correction interrupts fluency and can inhibit risk-taking. Delayed correction collects errors during the task and addresses them after. Match the type to the aim.
Example — Accuracy task: correct immediately. Fluency discussion: note errors quietly, correct after. Never interrupt a fluency task with form focus.
Try — At the start of your next lesson, decide: immediate or delayed correction. Commit to it for the whole session.
