ELT365 · Day 183 — Fluency versus accuracy

June 24, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea — Accuracy work prioritises getting form right; fluency work prioritises keeping going. Mixing the two — correcting hard during a fluency task — usually kills the flow you were trying to build.

Example — Interrupting every error in a debate stops the debate; saving feedback for the end preserves it.

Try — Decide one upcoming task is "fluency". Promise yourself: no interruptions; note errors and address them only afterwards.
