Idea — Reading aloud tests pronunciation, not comprehension — a learner can voice words without understanding them. Use it for noticing sounds or rehearsing a script, not as a comprehension check.

Example — A child can read a hard passage aloud fluently yet not grasp a single sentence.

Try — Next time you are tempted to go round the class reading aloud, ask: am I checking meaning or sound? If meaning, use a silent task instead.
