Idea — Extensive reading — reading for pleasure, without tasks or comprehension checks — builds vocabulary incidentally, increases reading speed, and raises motivation. Nation’s research supports it strongly.

Example — A learner who reads one graded reader per month at her level for a year will encounter high-frequency vocabulary hundreds of times in natural context — no flashcard required.

Try — Recommend one graded reader at the right level to each learner today. No comprehension task — just ‘What did you think of it?’ is enough.
