Idea — Note-taking is a receptive-plus-productive task. Learners must select, compress, and record meaning simultaneously. It needs scaffolding: partial notes, guided grids, or key-word prompts reduce the initial load.

Example — A partially completed table — speaker, topic, opinion — focuses attention and stops learners writing full sentences while trying to listen.

Try — Design a half-completed note grid for a listening you use. Leave deliberate gaps at the highest-information moments. Test it yourself first.
