ELT365 · Day 174 — Reading for detail — intensive skills

July 4, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea — Intensive reading demands close, careful attention to a short text. It builds accuracy and language awareness, not reading speed. Use it after gist work.

Example — “Find three reasons the author gives for the argument” requires learners to read every sentence, not skim or scan.

Try — Write one detail question per paragraph of a text you use. Map each question to its paragraph before the lesson.
