ELT365 · Day 168 — Matching Tasks

July 16, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea — Matching tasks pair headings with paragraphs, definitions with words, or speakers with opinions. They test global reading and inference.

Example — ‘Match each speaker (1–4) to the opinion they express (A–F)’ is common in listening exams.

Try — Take a three-paragraph text. Write one heading that fits perfectly and two that are plausible but wrong. Try the task yourself first.
