ELT365 · Day 196 — Teacher feedback on writing — less is more
Idea — Marking every error overwhelms learners and trains them to hunt for red pen, not to read for meaning. Target feedback to the lesson aim only.
Example — A B1 essay task aimed at argument structure: comment on structure and one language pattern. Leave spelling for the learner to self-correct.
Try — On your next marking batch, limit yourself to two feedback points per script, both tied directly to the lesson aim.
