ELT365 · Day 194 — What makes writing hard for learners
Idea — Writing demands precision, structure, and register — with no partner to fill gaps. Learners must generate ideas, organise them, and edit, often without knowing what good writing looks like in English.
Example — A confident B2 speaker may write short, simple sentences because they cannot edit at the speed they can talk.
Try — Ask your learners what they find hardest about writing in English. Are the problems content, form, or process?
