Idea — Reading allows re-reading; listening does not. But reading requires decoding written symbols; listening already knows the sound. Both skills need explicit teaching.

Example — An oral learner may speak fluently but read slowly — decoding words on the page is a separate skill from understanding spoken language.

Try — Identify one learner who performs very differently on reading versus listening tasks. What does the gap tell you about their needs?
