ELT365 · Day 169 — Reading for detail

June 23, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea — Intensive reading targets exact meaning — argument, grammar, nuance. It is slow and effortful, so reserve it for short, important extracts rather than whole long texts.

Example — Unpacking a contract clause word by word is intensive reading; skimming it would be reckless.

Try — Choose one rich paragraph. Write a question that needs close, line-by-line reading to answer, and limit it to that paragraph.
