ELT365 · Day 166 — True / False / Not Given
Idea — True / False / Not Given trains learners to distinguish what the text says from what it does not say. The third option is the skill; most errors come from assuming.
Example — A sentence about a city’s population. The text gives the number for one year only. “The population is rising” is Not Given, not False.
Try — Write three statements about a short text: one True, one False, one Not Given. Ask learners to justify each choice with a line from the text or the absence of one.
