This policy explains what personal data sourovdeb.com processes, why, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / RGPD) and the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés). It describes the tools actually installed on the site.

2. Summary

There are no user accounts for visitors and comments are closed.
The site shows no advertising.
Audience measurement uses Google Analytics through Site Kit by Google, in Google’s consent mode (details below).
Videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com).
One small preference cookie remembers which homepage look you chose.
If you write to me, your message reaches me by email and is used only to reply.

3. What is processed and why

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Hostinger International Limited (61 Lordou Vironos str., 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus). Like any web server, it records technical data when you visit (IP address, browser type, page requested, date and time) to deliver pages, keep the site secure and fix problems. Legal basis: legitimate interest (operating and securing the site). These logs are kept by the host for a limited period.

To load faster, the server keeps copies of public pages in a cache. These copies contain no personal data and are not used to track you.

Audience measurement (Google Analytics)

The site uses Google Analytics 4, installed with the Site Kit by Google plugin, to count visits and see which pages are read. The provider is Google Ireland Limited; data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Google’s consent mode is switched on. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the French overseas regions (including La Réunion), storage for analytics and advertising is set to “denied” by default. The site has no consent banner, so it stays denied: no Google Analytics cookies are stored on your device. In this mode Google can still receive limited, cookieless measurements (for example that a page was viewed, with browser information).

For visitors in other countries, Google Analytics can set its usual cookies (_ga and _ga_<ID>, which last up to 2 years) to tell visits apart.

You can also block Google Analytics with your browser’s tracking protection or Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

YouTube videos and thumbnails

Videos inside posts are embedded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Loading the player connects your browser to YouTube (Google Ireland Limited), which receives your IP address and browser information. When you play a video, YouTube may store cookies or similar data on your device under Google’s privacy policy.

The “Latest videos” list on the homepage shows thumbnails loaded from YouTube’s image server (i.ytimg.com), which also receives your IP address. Clicking a video opens it on youtube.com.

Contact by email or form

If you email me or use the contact form, I receive your name, email address and message by email (the mailbox is provided by Google, Gmail). They are used only to answer you and follow up. They are kept for at most 3 years after your last message and then deleted; you can ask for earlier deletion at any time. The form itself does not store messages on the website. Legal basis: your request (pre-contractual steps or legitimate interest in replying).

These are needed for features you choose and never leave your device, so they do not require consent. Fonts and scripts of this site are served from sourovdeb.com itself.

The site administrator also uses the standard WordPress login cookies when signed in; visitors do not receive them.

4. Who receives data

Only the service providers named above, each for its own task: Hostinger (hosting), Google (Analytics, YouTube, Gmail). Personal data is never sold.

5. Your rights / Vos droits

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. Under French law you can also give instructions about what happens to your data after your death.

To use these rights, email sourovdeb.is [at] gmail [dot] com. You will get an answer within one month. If there is a reasonable doubt about your identity, you may be asked for information to confirm it.

6. Complaints / Réclamation

If you think your data is not handled properly, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL (Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés): www.cnil.fr/fr/plaintes. Writing to me first often solves things faster.

7. Changes

This policy will be updated when the site’s tools change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
