Travel and Transport Vocabulary (A2)
🎙 From the classroom: My life has been a series of journeys: Chittagong to Sydney (plane, 13 hours, two suitcases, age 19). Sydney to Paris (plane, 23 hours, with Vanessa). Paris to Saint-Pierre, Réunion (plane again, 10 hours). I’ve learned travel English the hard way — by needing it at every airport.
💡 The Idea
Travel vocabulary covers transport types (plane, train, bus, ferry), key places (airport, station, port), tickets and boarding (single, return, platform, gate, check-in), and useful questions (What time does the next train leave? How much is a ticket to…?).
🗣 Example
✈️ At the airport: check in → go through security → find your gate → board the plane
🚆 At the station: buy a ticket (single/return) → find your platform → board the train
💬 Useful: ‘Excuse me, which platform for the train to Paris?’ / ‘Is this the right bus for the city centre?’
