π· Collocations at the Table: Restaurant Vocabulary
Level: B2 | Time: 5 min | Focus: Lexis β word combinations and collocations
π From Sourov’s world: As a sommelier at some of Sydney’s finest restaurants β the Ivy, Uccello, Establishment β I learned that wine vocabulary is mostly collocations. You don’t “make” a reservation, you “make” one at the restaurant. You don’t “do” a booking, you “take” one. The right verb makes the difference between sounding competent and sounding lost.
