Mother, father, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather — family words are some of the first words we learn in any language.

Examples

• This is my mum. That’s my dad.
• My sister is tall. My brother is funny.

Practice

Think about your family. Say who each person is in English. Can you make one sentence about each one? Try: ‘My grandmother is kind.’
