First Conditional: Real Possibilities (B1)
🎙 From the classroom: When I was job hunting in Réunion, every conversation was conditional: ‘If I speak better French, I will get more interviews.’ That sentence kept me studying. The First Conditional is the grammar of real hope — things that might actually happen.
💡 The Idea
The First Conditional talks about real and possible situations in the future. Form: If + present simple, will + base verb. The ‘if’ clause can come first or second. Remember: use present simple (not will) in the ‘if’ clause.
🗣 Example
✅ If it rains tomorrow, I will stay home.
✅ I will find a job if I practise French every day.
✅ If you don’t study, you won’t pass.
❌ Error: If I will study… → If I study…
