English Tip · 04 — Prepositions of Time — At, On, In

Three prepositions handle almost all time expressions. At = precise times and fixed points. On = days and dates. In = longer periods: months, years, seasons, times of day (except night).

Examples

• At 3 p.m. / at midnight / at the weekend (British English)
• On Monday / on 14 June / on my birthday
• In July / in 2023 / in the morning / in summer
