ELT365 · Day 210 — Integrating skills: the natural approach
Idea — Real communication always integrates skills. Reading sparks speaking; listening generates writing; speaking leads to reading. Design tasks that mirror this rather than isolating skills artificially.
Example — Read an article → discuss your reaction → write a response → share it with a partner who reads and gives feedback. All four skills, one topic, one hour.
Try — Map your next lesson’s main activity: which skill does it target? Now add one more skill stage before and one after. Does the lesson feel more cohesive?
