Idea — A complete productive skills lesson has four stages: lead-in, model and analyse, prepare, produce, feedback. Rushing the prepare stage collapses the quality of production.

Example — Lead-in (2 min) → read model and analyse structure (5 min) → prepare your own (5 min) → produce (8 min) → content feedback, then language feedback (5 min). Total: 25 minutes.

Try — Map your next speaking or writing lesson to those four stages. Which stage do you typically cut? If it is ‘prepare,’ restore it — that is where language moves from passive to active.
