ELT365 · Day 208 — Staging a speaking lesson — the full sequence
Idea — Speaking lesson order: lead-in → model the task → analyse language → controlled practice → freer practice → feedback slot. The model shows what done well looks like.
Example — Skip the model and learners default to the simplest language they know. The model is the aim made visible before they attempt it.
Try — Map your next speaking lesson against this sequence. Is there a model? Is there a feedback slot? Which step do you most often cut?
