ELT365 · Day 197 — Writing as a classroom activity: why it belongs here
Idea — Classroom writing is not homework. In-class writing allows the teacher to monitor process, give real-time feedback, and use errors as teaching material.
Example — Learners write a paragraph in class while you circulate. You see three learners struggling with cohesion; you address it now. At home, you would only see the polished or the abandoned draft.
Try — Set a five-minute in-class writing task next lesson. Circulate and note two patterns — one strength, one problem. Use both in feedback.
