ELT365 · Day 194 — Speaking and Writing Together
Idea — Speaking and writing prepare each other: talk generates ideas; writing organises them. A three-minute discussion before a writing task fills the page.
Example — Ask learners to discuss a topic for three minutes, then write a paragraph from the discussion. The talk provides content; the writing adds precision.
Try — Use a three-minute pair discussion as a pre-writing stage next lesson. Compare output quality with a version where you skip the speaking.
