Idea — Process writing treats writing as recursive, not linear: planning → drafting → revising → editing. Each stage is teachable, and each improves the final text more than a one-shot task does.

Example — Giving learners 40 minutes to “write an essay” skips planning, revision, and editing — three of the four stages that make writing improve.

Try — For your next writing task, dedicate 5 minutes to planning before learners write a word. Does their draft reflect their plan? Discuss where plans changed and why.
