Idea — An information gap means each learner holds something the other needs, creating a real reason to communicate. The gap forces negotiation of meaning, the engine of fluency practice.

Example — Student A has the train times, Student B has the prices; only by talking can they plan the trip.

Try — Design a tiny gap: give half the class one set of facts, half another, and a task that needs both to finish.
