ELT365 · Day 179 — Reading into Speaking

June 27, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea — Integrating reading with speaking gives readers a real purpose — they read to have something to say. It is the most natural reading follow-up.

Example — ‘Read the article. Then tell your partner: do you agree with the writer? Give one reason.’ The reading produces a conversation.

Try — Take a reading text. Write one speaking task that follows from it naturally. Make sure it requires an opinion, not just information recall.
