ELT365 · Day 175 — Note-Taking as a Listening Task

July 16, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea — Structured note-taking — a half-completed grid or diagram — gives learners a purpose and a pencil while listening. Blank paper is harder.

Example — A grid with ‘Topic / Speaker’s opinion / One reason given’ keeps learners anchored during an interview recording.

Try — Design a simple two-column note-taking grid for a listening text. What headings best guide learners to the key information?
