Idea — Falling intonation signals completion or certainty; rising intonation signals a question, doubt, or incompleteness. Teaching this stops learners misreading tone.

Example — ‘That’s fine’ said with a fall means agreement. Said with a rise, it signals the opposite.

Try — Record two versions of ‘I see’ — one falling, one rising. Play both. Ask learners what each version means in context.
