ELT365 · Day 162 — Using the Tapescript

June 26, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea — A tapescript is a tool for reflection after listening, not a crutch during it. Showing it too early removes the listening task entirely.

Example — Play audio, set task, check answers, discuss difficulties — then show the tapescript. Learners now read it to confirm what they caught.

Try — Use a tapescript only after two listens and a full task cycle. Ask learners to underline the three hardest moments and explain why.
