Idea — Graded recordings simplify vocabulary, slow the pace, and clarify pronunciation. They are scaffolding — use them at lower levels and phase them out as learners grow.

Example — A coursebook dialogue at A2 level reduces connected speech, increases pausing, and avoids idioms. That’s scaffolding, not dumbing down.

Try — Compare a graded and authentic version of the same topic. What was removed? Was any authentic feature worth keeping for higher-level learners?
