ELT365 · Day 258 — ESA in a Plan

July 12, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea

Engage → Study → Activate (Harmer) is a flexible framework where the three phases can appear in any order. It suits varied lesson types and mixed aims.

Example

A ‘Boomerang’ ESA: Engage (warmer) → Activate (free task: discover the gap) → Study (focus on language) → Activate again (new task).

Try

Plan an ESA lesson that uses the Boomerang pattern. Write the activate stage before the study stage and check the logic holds.
