Idea

A stage is a discrete part of the lesson with its own aim, activity, interaction pattern, and timing. Most 60-minute lessons have four to seven stages.

Example

Lead-in (5 min) → pre-teach vocabulary (8 min) → gist reading (7 min) → detail task (10 min) → speaking response (15 min) → feedback (10 min) → close (5 min).

Count the stages in your last lesson plan. Does each have a clear aim distinct from the others?
