ELT365 · Day 242 — Energy Management Across a Lesson

📚60-Day ELT Masterclass — This post is part of an ongoing series. View full index →

Idea

Lesson energy follows a shape: engage learners early, hold attention through varied tasks, and close before momentum drops. Pace is a design choice.

Example

If the middle of your lesson is three written exercises in a row, the energy will dip. Insert one brief speaking task to reset engagement.

Try

Map the energy curve of your last lesson: high, medium, or low at each stage. Identify the dip and plan one change.
