ELT365 · Day 239 — Handling Learner Errors in the Moment
Idea
On-the-spot correction interrupts fluency tasks — use it sparingly. Delayed correction preserves flow and lets you address the most important patterns.
Example
During a role play, note errors on your notepad. Afterwards: ‘I heard a few interesting forms — let’s look at them on the board.’
Try
In your next fluency task, practise not interrupting. Note five errors. Decide which two deserve whole-class attention.
