ELT365 · Day 231 — Teacher Proximity — Moving Around the Room

📚60-Day ELT Masterclass — This post is part of an ongoing series. View full index →

Idea

Where you stand sends a signal. Standing at the front during pair work keeps the focus on you, not the task. Move into the room to monitor.

Example

During a writing task, crouch to eye-level next to a learner. This says: I am interested in your work, not policing you.

Try

In your next lesson, identify two points where you tend to stay fixed. Plan to move away from those points deliberately.
