ELT365 · Day 225 — Working with Large Classes
Idea
In large classes, whole-class activities eat time; pair and group work multiply speaking opportunities. Monitoring must be systematic, not random.
Example
With 30 students, a speaking task gives 15 simultaneous conversations instead of one. Move through the room in a fixed pattern so no pair is skipped.
Try
Plan a route around the room for your next monitoring stage. Decide in advance which three pairs you will focus on for feedback.
