ELT365 · Day 209 — Useful written feedback

June 23, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea — Effective feedback is selective and forward-looking: praise something, target one or two priorities, and give a concrete next step. Covering a script in red ink rarely changes the next draft.

Example — "Strong opening; now work on past tenses — see the three I marked" beats fifty scattered corrections.

Try — On your next marking, limit yourself to one praise point and two priorities per learner. Resist correcting everything.
