Idea — Marking every error overwhelms learners and does the work for them. A correction code (Sp = spelling, WO = word order, T = tense) flags error type and asks learners to self-correct.
Example — Writing "T" above a verb prompts the learner to fix the tense themselves, which sticks better.
Try — Choose four error types you see most. Make a tiny code for them and try it on one set of writing instead of full correction.
