ELT365 · Day 184 — Drilling — why, when, and how

July 4, 2026 · Sourov · 1 min read

Idea — Drilling fixes the sound and rhythm of new language in muscle memory. Use it after presentation, before freer practice — never as a lesson in itself.

Example — Choral drill → individual drill → back-chain drill for long chunks: haven’t I been waiting for this.

Try — Drill one target structure using all three types: choral, individual, back-chain. Note which learners still need correction at the end.
